Executive Training

Professionals in the financial industry need to be up to date with all regulatory changes and the upcoming rules. In such a continuously evolving environment, senior management needs the support of highly skilled and trained industry professionals that can enlighten them by transmitting their knowledge not merely through prepared presentations, but also by sharing hands on experience, pragmatic views, and real life examples.

Our firm currently offers Continuous Development Programs (CPDs)* on the topics of MiFID II, the 4th (Forth) AML Directive, and the AIFMD along with National Laws and Directives. Our senior consultants can also accommodate in-house senior management training in a range of other topics specific to the financial industry.

* Currently offered only in Cyprus

MiFID II

The MiFID II seminar focuses exclusively on the changes introduced under the Second Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and tries to increase the participants’ awareness of the new regulatory requirements, enabling them to understand how their operations may be affected by the changes and maintain their continued compliance. Due to seminar time constraints, the focus of the seminar is to provide for a broad understanding of the changes. Given the extent of new Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) introduced under the new Directive and Regulation, and the seminar time constraints, our team encourages anyone interested in more in depth analysis of one or more RTS, to reach us for other arrangements.

4th AML Directive

The 4th AML Directive seminar also focuses solely on the changes introduced under the Forth AML Directive and tries to make the participants aware of changes and new rules. The format includes practical examples of various scenarios that can be witnessed in a regulated firm’s daily operations. It also provides for regulatory interpretations of various rules and regulations and tries to address participant queries on any ambiguous terms. Given that our firm has been offering exemplary Compliance, AML, and Risk Management services on an outsourced basis for several years, it should be safe to say that our seminars (both open and private) would meet the needs of even the most demanding industry professional.

Alternative Investment Fund Industry

In 2014, the Alternative Investment Funds Law (the Law) was introduced in Cyprus as the primal guide of setting up and licensing an AIF in Cyprus, in full compliance with the AIFMD enabling its marketing* to investors across the EU and beyond. Following industry and regulatory interaction, a revision of the Law has been in the works, which is expected to refine the current version purging the weaknesses and filling the omissions.

The scope of our last seminar of the CPD series, aims to introduce the revisions in the Law while increasing the participants’ knowledge of both the authorization and post authorization regulatory intricacies, and industry processes. Participants should be able to comprehend the regulatory requirements and the reasoning behind the decision to require the enforcement of such actions. They should also be able to understand the various AIF types, when should they be chosen as the suitable means for collective investments, what their reporting requirements would be, and a broader understanding of the AIF industry. With a team comprised of industry and regulatory professionals, we are certain that the seminar would be more than fulfilling to its participants.
